Breast cancer can happen to women of any age. Finding the signs early can save your life. Please read these carefully and share with your family.
1. A new lump in the breast or underarm
A hard or painless lump is one of the most common early signs.
Any new lump should be checked by a doctor.
2. Swelling of part of the breast
Even if you do not feel a lump, one side may look bigger or swollen.
3. Change in the size or shape of the breast
If your breast suddenly looks different than usual, do not ignore it.
4. Skin dimpling or thickening
The skin may look like an orange peel or feel thick and tight.
5. Redness or darkening of breast skin
Unusual redness, warmth, or irritation that does not go away can be a warning sign.
6. Nipple turning inward (inverted nipple)
If your nipple suddenly starts pulling inside, it should be checked.
7. Nipple discharge (not breast milk)
Especially if the discharge is bloody or happens by itself.
8. Pain in one area of the breast
Breast cancer is often painless, but long-lasting pain in one spot needs medical advice.
9. Peeling, crusting, or scaling of the nipple or areola
Skin around the nipple may look dry, cracked, or scaly.
10. Swollen lymph nodes under the arm or near the collarbone
This can happen when cancer starts to spread.
