⚠️ Important note: These signs do NOT always mean cancer. Many are caused by common, harmless problems.
But if any symptom lasts more than 2–3 weeks, keeps getting worse, or feels unusual for you, it’s important to see a doctor.
1️⃣ Unexplained weight loss
Losing weight without dieting, exercise, or lifestyle changes can be an early warning sign.
Cancer can change how your body uses energy and nutrients.
2️⃣ Extreme and constant tiredness
This is not normal tiredness.
You feel weak, exhausted, and drained even after resting.
3️⃣ Lumps or swelling anywhere on the body
A new lump in the neck, armpit, breast, or groin that does not go away should always be checked.
4️⃣ Pain that does not go away
Long-lasting pain without a clear reason can sometimes be linked to an underlying problem, including cancer.
5️⃣ Changes in bowel habits or urination
Examples include:
long-lasting constipation or diarrhea
blood in stool or urine
needing to pass urine more often than usual
6️⃣ A cough or hoarseness that doesn’t improve
A cough, sore throat, or hoarse voice that lasts for weeks should not be ignored.
7️⃣ Unusual bleeding or discharge
This can include:
blood in urine or stool
bleeding between periods
coughing up blood
8️⃣ Skin changes or sores that don’t heal
Watch for:
new or changing moles
wounds that don’t heal
darkening, redness, or yellowing of skin
9️⃣ Difficulty swallowing or ongoing indigestion
If swallowing becomes painful or food feels stuck often, or indigestion does not improve with usual treatment, get medical advice.
🔟 Loss of appetite or feeling full very quickly
A sudden, ongoing loss of interest in food or getting full after only a few bites can be an early warning sign.
🩺 When should you take action?
According to the World Health Organization, early detection and medical check-ups greatly improve outcomes for many cancers.
👉 See a doctor urgently if:
a symptom lasts more than 2–3 weeks
it keeps getting worse
you notice unusual bleeding, a new lump, or unexplained weight loss
✅ Final reminder for you (important)
These signs are not a diagnosis.
